Iran and nuclear warheads
According to new findings Iran have in their possession plans on how to make nuclear warheads. Mohamed El-Baradei, the chairman of the IAEA revealed the news in Geneva to the member states gathered there.
The EU led by the UK are in negotiations with Iran currently to make Iran only develop peaceful nuclear power, but it seems Iran under president Jalal Talabani is bent on getting the nuke for their own purposes.
One can wonder to what end they need it.
The US is understandably not as lenient in their remarks as the UK, the quote was that "Iran is digging themselves deeper into a hole". Even China and Russia are now increasing the pressure on Iran to reveal the true extent of their nuclear program.
Is it Irans right to develop nuclear weapons, according to the non-proliferation treaty they shouldn't but as many people maintain, why should USA decide what countries should get the bomb and which country shouldn't. I feel that is not a very correct statement since most states that have developed these weapons are stable and democratic with the exceptions of Pakistan. Russia can be debated since Putin have just decided to increase pressure on NGOs, I will talk about that in a later blogg.
I believe that the international community should put increased pressure on Iran to reveal their program, especially with these new proofs that they are seeking nuclear weapons. I hope that France one day will wake up from their deep sleep or just leave the international arena all together. It would have been easier if they hadn't interfered so much in ascertaining Irans nuclear dreams.
So the question remains, should Iran, led by a (supposed) terrorist, Jalal Talabani, be allowed to develop nuclear weapons? I say no!
