WTO Meeting in Hong Kong

The sixth ministerial meeting of the WTO is coming to my Hometown Hong Kong in the middle of December. I look forward to this meeting and I'll try to get as much information as possible and put on my blogg when the meeting starts.
This meeting is a continuation of the Doha Development Agenda and is scheduled to be in place in 2006. My main hope is that the nations will be able to pass free trade agreements for Africa and also that the EU and USA are forced to reform the perverse agricultural support system. The Agricultural policies of EU is eating away half of the annual budget. Just imagine what we could do with that money instead of throwing it away on people that should do something else with their lives. Imagine the Infrastructure support we could give Romania, the roads are in desperate need of repairs, this would greatly improve the Romanians possibilities to export their goods.
I wonder why Europe's and US politicians fight so hard to keep subventionalised markets, the farmers of Europe can't be more than 2% yet they take 50% of the budget, what are they thinking?
The world needs more free trade and thus far it is only anti globalisation people that are standing in the way of a world where we can actually condemn poverty and hunger to the pages of history. When finally the last trade barrier has been dropped and WTO has announced it shutting down and going home, that is the day when all democratic market economy based nations can look forward to prosperity and the dictators can count their last days in power.
As Bill Clinton said:
"We know today how to fight poverty"
Question is, do we dare to?
Sincerely
Mr Silence Dogood
